Rip CDs Automatically When Inserted with Ubuntu 24 & ABCDE

I’ve recently started to buy CDs again. Buying and having physical music is just great. The benefit of the CD being that I can rip it, and still access my purchased music anywhere. Couple that with an unnecessary requirement to automate as much …

The sunset last night was bonkers

    ...

Drinking beer with my feet up. This is one of the good days

Set up Plex to store my CD collection and got Plexamp up and running. Awesome to have FLACs on the go like this. I’m buying CDs like mad at the moment.. probably going to need an old school CD rack soon 💿🎵

I just finished reading Solaris by Stanisław Lem the other day. Quite a weird one, but really enjoyable. Now to watch the movie!

    Movie Log 🍿: Twisters, 2024 - ★★★★

Full of drama, super intense and a lot of fun. I spent literally every tornado scene searching for a cow. Cinema was packed. Is this the film of the summer?

I had a lovely little automation for posting instagram photos to my blog. Turns out the images don’t live for long on the instagram URL so I’ve got to engineer something more clever. Cheers Meta ✌️

    Movie Log 🍿: Longlegs, 2024 - ★★★

No better than three. A shame because I was very excited for this one. Felt like it should’ve been an 18 with more gore. Definitely had the looks on its side, this was a delightfully shot movie

    Movie Log 🍿: Triangle of Sadness, 2022 - ★★★★

Three very distinct acts make this really fun. Loved the whole movie. Was expecting cannibalism, I’ve gotta say

    Movie Log 🍿: Kinds of Kindness, 2024 - ★★★½

Spent a lot of this movie baffled but really enjoyed the absurdity. The anthology style is excellent. Good film

Went to Scotland for the first time. Not sure how it took me so long 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What I really love about Glastonbury is that every inch of the place has something to look at. I’m just about over the blues at this point, but normal life just isn’t the same.

Movie Log 🍿: The Devil Wears Prada, 2006 - ★★★

A fairly easy watch for a tired Tuesday night

    ...

    Movie Log 🍿: A Quiet Place: Day One, 2024 - ★★★

Unlocked a whole new set of fears for my cat

    ...

Spent the week on a farm. Two horrible bus journeys, horrendously heavy bags and red hot sun. Worth it all ten times over ✌️

    ...

    Movie Log 🍿: The Matrix, 1999 - ★★★★★

Everything about this film is spot on. All the way down to the closing credits. Special effects completely hold up. Excellent film

    ...

    Movie Log 🍿: Source Code, 2011 - ★★★

It’s a bit all over the place but I enjoyed it. Groundhog Day in the multiverse

How’d I get to 30 and not hear Mezcal Head by Swervedriver? Man this album is excellent

Spent some time yesterday modding a Game Boy Advance I bought on eBay. Turns out when I played the original one I realised where my bad eyesight came from.. new screen is so bright!

Just submitted a micro.blog search !bang to DuckDuckGo. If approved, should speed up my searching!

    Movie Log 🍿: Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, 2024 - ★★★★

Good action and good storytelling. I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely rewatching this at some point

    ...

    Movie Log 🍿: I, Robot, 2004 - ★★★★

Love how completely unnecessary Shia LaBeouf’s character is in this movie

    ...

    Movie Log 🍿: The Fall Guy, 2024 - ★★★

I thought this was a pretty fun popcorn movie. References galore and some snazzy expensive looking stunts

Having a dance-punk moment. Radio 4 and Le Tigre and nothing more today 🎵
