Mystery Screening at Prince Charles Cinema. Really quite funny mockumentary
View on Letterboxd

A good popcorn movie with some great performances. I liked how creepy it felt and that the ending was left to your own interpretation a bit. Saying that, so was the whole setup of the film. Stephen Graham doing a Jeffrey Dahmer thing

Hands over the eyes stuff. All the stress in my life is pretend and could be worse

IMAX for this one. As with the film adaptation of The Martian, this stays fairly true to the source material. It loses a touch of the grind that Grace and Rocky had to put in (reduced to a montage just like the trip to the second ship in The β¦

This was a mystery screening at the cinema. Iβve not watched the first movie but they filled in the blanks nicely. Funny, self-aware and dripping with blood

Couldβve been a bit more adventurous but was an alright watch. I wonder if Glen Powell has been in his own house for the past two years with the amount of work heβs doing

Very on-the-nose throughout. I felt it had a lot of Poor Things in there but didnβt work as well for me. Great acting all round in pretty challenging roles

Felt very uncomfortable on edge for the whole thing which Iβm sure was the directorβs vision

Yes this is it. Cinema shouldβve stopped here. Incredible design, the hammiest acting from Jeff, everything great.

Really eerie movie. The way it plays out leaves you to interpret it on your own, which I like. Horror without the cheap jumpscares!

Went on a little long and dragged out a lot of the points. Some really funny foreshadowing (everyone look at these stairs!) but all told an alright popcorn thriller

Good grief itβs not getting better than this. Immaculately acted, Ralph Fiennes blows the lid off it. Outstanding

An acting master class. Jessie Buckley throws the kitchen sink at it. The kids are brilliant!
I am however convinced people werenβt swimming such drilled front crawl at the turn of the 17th century

First film of the year and what a way to go in.Β
Haunting, devastating and absolutely beautiful to watch.

Captivating performances by an incredible cast. Philip Seymour Hoffman was unbelievable here. Very enjoyable movie that is absolutely beautiful

This was alright, some good laughs in places and a fun story that kept me interested. As always with these films, marvellous cast

Some woeful CGI going on here. Felt like the entire movie was filmed in front of a green screen. Story was okay.

Watched on a crappy inflight TV how Edgar wanted it to be. Really fun movie, enjoyed the comic style cuts and animations.

Really enjoyable film. I loved the Michael Cera scene. Now to complete the trilogy of Running Man and read the book

A swirling, abstract film. Beautifully shot throughout and some great work by Jennifer Lawrence and RPatz.

Genuinely thought theyβd cast Benicio Del Toro as old Leonardo Di Caprio for a moment. What a movie. Probably film of the year

Plane film #6: Lost my mind by this point. Loved the meta Julia Roberts thing and the Bruce cameo.

Plane Watch #3: Nice dramatic Sci-Fi. Thought it was well acted all round and the premise is right up my street.

Man this film was good. What did it not have?

Your classic Ferrell/McKay comedy. Not as good as the peaks of these movies but still drew some laughs

Pure bleakness, outstanding depth. The bluntness to the violence was excellent. Great film

Truly a mental film. A nonstop hit parade of post-killing one liners.

Darren made a funny one!

Hilarious! Completely unexpected, I barely stopped laughing throughout.

Gripping and creepy in all the right measures.

Itβs no Past Lives but itβs still a very well made film.

A fun little movie thatβs heavy on the twee but still heartwarming enough. Soundtrack is pretty good and I wish there were albumsβ worth of Munchausen By Proxy music I could listen to

This is a real return to form! Full of Abram-isms, itβs like watching Fringe but with more action. Excellent stuff.

I loveΒ that the vault would have all the most sophisticated sensors in the world but stops short of having a camera for the guard outside to watch. Overall it was very fun!

Honestly a really enjoyable 90 minute movie

Pure absurdist hilarity. Any film that makes me cry with laughter gets five stars.

Quite a long way better than I anticipated. Budget mustβve been blown to bits on the spaceship

Well thatβs one way to explore grief I suppose..

If Iβd have known more about why the movie was made going in, it wouldβve made so much more sense. I thought it was madly dry with some atrocious dialogue. Still, fun and original.

Some really nice cinematography here. Good old bit of bleakness, nobody gets to be happy.

Even without an ending that hilarious, this is a truly outstanding film. The entire cast acts the socks off it. The way itβs shot is really engaging and frantic. That ending, though, is something else

Blockbusters just donβt get better than this. Unbelievable practical effects (the alienβs face opening in the morgue?!) and impeccable acting (Edgar). Iβd watch it every day if I could

Felt a little half-baked in the concepts but I liked the story.

A bit paint-by-numbers but a good bit of fun

Just a lovely story with relentless comic relief. Was an excellent watch.

Top stuff. Really well shot with the camcorders. Loved it

Pleasant. A little brand-heavy in places. There is no way thereβs a Papa Johnβs in Iceland. Certainly tried very hard to be inspirational but I think maybe it falls a little flat. The Benjamin Button bit is outstanding though.

Made me laugh a few times with the catchphrases and some absurdity. Maybe a little convoluted for me, though. As ever with Wesβ films, set design is immaculate

Creepy throughout, found it be very gripping despite its runtime. Florence canβt do wrong, sheβs brilliant in this.

Some pretty expensive looking shots of rockets and a couple of laughs. A good film

Just relentless silly deaths. Cheeks hurt from laughing when I left the cinema. The opening scene was immaculate. I wouldβve liked the whole film in that setting but great fun regardless.

This movie had me wondering if I was losing my mind. Properly surreal and strange. Iβm loving how much Nick Cage throws himself at roles like this

What wasnβt this film?

Mrs Danvers is gonna haunt me

Canβt believe Iβd not watched this until now. Everything comes together here to make a story about an evil car make sense. Some unbelievable practical effects work throughout, had me gobsmacked. Loved it!

This is some good sci-fi. Full of all the touches of βthe futureβ that seemed wild at release (watches with screensΒ in them?!) as well as showing me the cars in I, Robot were ripped from this film. I want to call out the sound design too, because it β¦

I was picked up and taken for a ride watching this movie. Immaculate. I am yet to see Frances McDormand in a role I am not blown away by, so so good.

Laughed a lot. This is a proper popcorn movie

Hilarious whilst balancing tension. Unique in its storytelling and I enjoyed the lot. Some comically bad punching but also a banging old Citroen ZX

A really bleak tale. A lot of story told through silence. Can see how this led into future Sean Baker movies

My heart rate went over 100bpm watching this. Youβll know the ending thatβs coming the whole time but it takes you on a rollercoaster to get there.

So much funnier than I was anticipating. RPat screaming at himself was hilarious. Ruffalo and Collette were great every time they were on screen. Shoutout to the set design too, really well done.

PamAn and Dave Bautista are immense in this. A tale of people forced to change by the relentlessness of Las Vegas. Has similar themes to The Substance. A great watch

Steers awfully close to Scary Movie levels of absurdity at points. Good fun to watch something so unserious!

How can a movie be hilarious and bleak simultaneously?

A tale about loneliness. Gosling as ever was brilliant in this. Can see why he got the Oscar nod

This short film walked so The Substance could run

This is a really gripping film. With the premise being what it is, I was expecting a bit of a snooze-fest but was pleasantly surprised. Plenty of intrigue and drama coupled with marvellous acting all round.

So many hilarious moments. The close cut to a body double for Adam Scott revealing the abs will never not be funny

CageΒ² in a meta marvel. What a crazy piece of filmmaking.

This film is so complete! The whole spectrum of emotion. Wonderful acting especially from the kids.

What monumental acting in this film, complete masterclass. Not sure Iβve ever seen so much storytelling achieved in complete silence either. My first Mike Leigh film and I doubt my last.

I watched this without knowing it was a Martin McDonagh movie. It made perfect sense to me why I loved it so much after finding that out.

Super long but less dry than I thought it would be. Brody is ridiculouslyΒ good. Ultimately if youβre going Β 3+ hours I want more payoff than we really got

I counted more than five people leave the cinema during this. Talk about flight risk

Always say thank you to chatGPT

Shot so inventively and a story told eloquently. Great film

Getting Culkin in was an inspired choice. Great film, nice emotional plot with comic relief throughout.

My second favourite Nick Hault vampire film

Nice little tearjerker to start 2025. Doesnβt take anything to the traumatic places it couldβve which is definitely for the better. Some excellent comic relief and I think the non-linear story shines.

How I feel if I use the calm app in the morning. In all seriousness though this is a beautiful film that reminds you to find the beauty in the everyday. This film is one of those that makes you see the world differently when it ends. For me, thatβs β¦

Getting lost in this film was an absolute delight

Now I have a machine gun

Watched the 4K restoration of this and it was immaculate. Every single shot had the creepiness dialled up to 11. What a film

Really enjoyable documentary that at times felt very obviously scripted. Shoutout to ParTeb for bringing the vibes.

Gripping film thatβs acted brilliantly. Music is great too

What a beautifully shot movie this is. I found it was paced perfectly and the acting was outstanding.

Really enjoyed this. Sits really well with the original

Wild bit of parody watched on a hotel TV late at night. Some hilarious moments. I LOVED YOU IN WALL STREET

Slow motion shots of waves breaking all over the show. Great action movie, everything you want is here.

Felt so desperately sorry for Bill throughout the whole film. Beautifully shot and really well executed. Terrifying nuns throughout

Hughβs great in this. The plot was perhaps a little contrived but I enjoyed the movie regardless

Very well acted and well shot movie. I understand the timeline flitting wouldβve been a creative decision but was a bit much for me. Β Overall I enjoyed it, worth a watch. Difficult to watch with a pint

Never has a film overwhelmed me quite like this. Was sat in the car for ages after leaving the cinema just trying to come back down to earth. This feels like an instant classic

I think I just watched a two hour perfume ad

Bad Trip Simulator 1968
How any of that was created with the methods available at the time blows my mind

This is cinema everyone! The stop motion robot clumsily chasing Sarah is as good as it gets

Full of drama, super intense and a lot of fun. I spent literally every tornado scene searching for a cow. Cinema was packed. Is this the film of the summer?

No better than three. A shame because I was very excited for this one. Felt like it shouldβve been an 18 with more gore. Definitely had the looks on its side, this was a delightfully shot movie

Three very distinct acts make this really fun. Loved the whole movie. Was expecting cannibalism, Iβve gotta say

Spent a lot of this movie baffled but really enjoyed the absurdity. The anthology style is excellent. Good film

A fairly easy watch for a tired Tuesday night

Unlocked a whole new set of fears for my cat

Everything about this film is spot on. All the way down to the closing credits. Special effects completely hold up. Excellent film

Itβs a bit all over the place but I enjoyed it. Groundhog Day in the multiverse

Good action and good storytelling. I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely rewatching this at some point

Love how completely unnecessary Shia LaBeoufβs character is in this movie

I thought this was a pretty fun popcorn movie. References galore and some snazzy expensive looking stunts

That zoom onto Scheider when he realises itβs a shark is perfection. Everything about this is perfection

Under 90 mins β
Scarf around a wound so you donβt have to pay for special effects β
Presumably funded by an obsolete technology company β
This film has it all

Sega will redesign half of Crazy Taxi to take out a Pizza Hut and these guys wonβt even dub a new song over Lostprophets?

You throw a shot driving through the desert in a movie and Iβm going to stay invested. This film rocked

I remember the CGI looking an awful lot better than this

Well all that build up in the first film wasnβt for nothing. Watched in IMAX and was blown away by the soundscaping in this film

The balance of comedy and suspense here is just perfect. Marvellously made

Gritty Barbie

I can totally see this as related to The Worst Person In The World. It felt similarly made. An enjoyable watch

Is this one of the truly saddest films of all time? Quite possibly. A swirling tale of loneliness. Brilliantly made.

ΒΏQue necesito empacar para mi viaje a Chile? Lo sΓ©, Β‘solo cigarrillos!
People sure did smoke in the 70s. Harrowing film though, wonderfully told and an incredible feat of survival.

The book was a really great read but this movie has made a couple of pretty weird changes that killed it for me. We had a lot of fun with spinning cameras too

I cringed a lot watching this film. The sheer creepiness of it was hard to take. I felt incredibly sorry for Priscilla. Groomed and prepared for a life before she really even knew who she was.

First movie of the year. Ultimate βbroβ comedy. I donβt know what to do with my hands

Lily Gladstone is unbelievable in this film. Leo is incredible in this film. Everyone is! You see the phrase βinstant classicβ thrown around a lot but this one really deserves it.
